I am a SAHM in CCDC and I feel very super alone during the day here. It's nanny city, 8 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. My unstudied guess is that, as you said, it generally takes 2 incomes to buy a $1,000,000 home now, plus the working mom neighbors I know well take great pride in their careers. ie, it's not just a job.
SAHMs are slightly more common inside the boundaries for Blessed Sacrament in CCDC east of Conn. Ave. than they are outside those boundaries. I'll let you draw your own conclusions there.
