Ha! I went to that daycare too (as did my sister who is also 36, maybe you two knew each other ). The one in Lyon Park is run by the same couple as back when I went there as a kid. They used to have a "montessori" like elementary school program, which I'm guessing they still do for first grade and kindergarten.

Thanks for posting-that whole situation sounds amazing to me. So parents dropped their kids off in Alexandria and the daycare then bused them to two other daycares in Arlington and Fairfax??? Why?

They have been shut down in the past due to overcrowding. Hire enough lawyers and do the right paperwork and you can make your problems go away!
Believe there is some testimony from one of the parents starting on Page 37 of this document - http://dockets.alexandriava.gov/fy08/101307ph/di11.pdf

Weird, I used to live in the neighborhood and I thought it was shut down.

I just checked the dss website and the license is listed as conditional. Which is strange b/c it was there for a long time. I would call the inspector assigned and ask what's up. GL.

I notice their website says up to age 6...which would imply K and Grade 1, which seems a bit odd. It's close to where I live, but would love to hear some views from people who know the school....My DD would start at 3 and I'm looking for something that has a good instructional program not just a typical daycare play zone...

OP here- anyone know anything about this school...seems worrying if not given it's Lyon Park location and proximity to 'hoods popular on this forum...
