I think any language like that is inappropriate for an 8 year old to hear.

Smosh is appropriate for any child 8 years old or over yes it has swearing but it bleeps it out you can't hear a single part of the word if they say f*** you will not hear it you will only see there mouths open so anyone out there who thinks not even 8 year olds can watch it firetruck you.

In my mom's home, the "F word" was fart. She had all girls and grew up with a bunch of sisters. Life with boys is so different....

Different families have different rules about language, and while I may be more lenient with my kids, that doesn't mean your rules are wrong or inappropriate. You just have to make sure your son knows your expectations.

OK, if you are going to police for crap (and you can't even write that word?) you are going to have a tough time.

If you don't want him to say crap thats one thing, but I don't see how you can stop him from hearing it. He probably hears it everyday at school.

An intended "crap" and f-u? Uh, no that is not appropriate for an 8 year old.

I've never heard of smosh, but I think that if your kid is using language you don't approve of, that he is learning there, it's reasonable to put that off-limits, and just continue to monitor what he is doing online.

Ok, this is my question. Smosh is a very popular youtube channel (a web-based comedy duo) and my son seems to have picked up all sort of borderline language from watching it... like crab (when he means cra*), f you, and so on... I wonder if other parents have come across similar experiences. I was wondering whether it is already time to set up a gigantic web of parental controls when our kid is on the internet....
