Our embryo died in the lab - and we got a call the next morning from the doctor.
It happened the night after fertilization.
If you didn't get a call - I think that is a good sign that the transfer will go ahead as planned!
Don't EVER worry about sounding like a 'nutjob' - you are NOT! You are investing a lot in every way and can expect to be kept abreast of what's happening with courtesy and compassion!

Sonos were always done by the doctors only.
I've had one snippy nurse there, all the others were very nice. Wish I would remember the snippy ones name, because she was actually quite bad - zero compassion and zero enthusiasm and she didn't try to hide it.

19:33 here - sorry when I meant monitoring, I meant bloodwork. I have never had anyone other than a Dr do my sonograms. We had a debate on this a month or two back when a few people said they regularly had nurses do it - I've only had Dr's, so I only use the nurses for quick questions, prescriptions, blood work, phone calls etc.

OP here, I am not sure what their names are, but only one nurse has done my sonograms and she didn't seem to have any issues. I really like the nurse with bright blonde hair, and then there was a younger one with dark hair and lighter skin that I thought was really nice too.

Oh. Does Erin finally know how to use the sonogram equipment? She had been there about a year and every time she did my sonos she couldn't find anything and had to get someone else to come in.

Interesting - I have bumped into one or two snippy nurses at Dominion - but I really adore Nichol, Nicole, and Erin - somehow I've lucked into them for most of my monitoring.

Speaking to my experience at Dominion, I think the lab is good, but I hear what you are saying about the nurses being snippy. I think when you're spending all the money you are, that the freaking least they can do is act like you're not bothering them. I went thru cycles at Dominion and Shady Grove, and I bounced between 2 SG offices and probably spoke with 15+ nurses. Not one of them was snippy. But at Dominion, they are all like that. Even when they act nice, they aren't. They're all fan-girls of Dimattina, who by the way, never gets on the phone with you.

I think it's perfectly fine to call and ask during normal business hours (but wouldn't call if it was an emergency after-hours call). It can't hurt to ask, especially if you're stressing out about. I only had one embryo fertilize with my last medicated cycle, and was absolutely terrified it wasn't going to make it to the day 3 transfer. I wish I'd call the day before to ask, although I'm not sure they could have told me anything if the PP is right that said they don't like to expose them to light. FWIW, I've done three IVF cycles and one FET, and all of the embryos have made it to transfer once we got them fertilized.

I got a call the day after retrieval and they scheduled my day 5 transfer, from what I understand they leave the embryos alone since exposing them to light is harmful. Also the RE's don't look at them the. Embryologist does. I did 2 rounds and am pregnant from the second one, awaiting final ultrasound then hopefully a normal pregnant person.

I am a patient at Domion and while I wouldn't rave about them necessarily, I think you are in good hands. I actually think that there lab is excellent (from everything I have heard and read) and since you are already done with the procedures etc all you can do is relax and pray that it was a good egg. The Dr isn't going to be checking to see if it's still a good embryo - the lab will and since it fertilized I wish you all luck and every finger and toe crossed for you.

I don't mean to scare you, but they might not even notice if they die. I'm not sure the docs even looked at mine between fertilization and a few minutes before transfer. That's just a guess, though, so I hope I'm wrong.

Ugh I have read nothing but overwhelmingly negative things about Dominion. So far I haven't had any bad experiences really (maybe a little less handholding than I'd like from the nurses and a few with snippy attitudes, but nothing that compares to what I've read here). I have really liked each of the three doctors I have seen. I'm just holding out hope that this works. What was your story? Why do you think they suck? Was it successful?

I did NC with Dominion, they called me 2 days after and told me I was doing a 5 day transfer. That's all. They don't call you daily, but that's also because Dominion sucks. Sorry if that's where you are. Good luck.

Will they call you as soon as the embryo dies, if it fertilizes but doesn't make it to transfer? I was such a wreck waiting to find out if it fertilized and now can't stop thinking that it's going to die before transfer (I don't even know if "die" is the right word but you know what I mean..). I can see the statistics online for what percentage of retrieved eggs result in pregnancy, and what percentage of transfers result in pregnancy, but I don't see anything about fertilized eggs resulting in pregnancy. I wonder if the gap between retrieved eggs and transfers is because the eggs don't fertilize, or if they DO fertilize and then die. Ughhh this anxiety is taking over my life!
