OP here again. Correction - the vitamin B6, B12 and Folic Acid complex is from Holista brand. I purchased it on drugstore.com. It contains 50 mg of vitamin B6, 1000 mcg of folic acid, 125 mcg of vitamin B12 and 33 mg of calcium.

I already had one miscarriage at 8 weeks (fetus had no chromosomal abnormalities) and my doctors did not even think about the possibility of progesterone deficiency. Makes me very mad because now I keep thinking "What if"

OP here. I will look at the dosage info on the bottle label and report back. I am also quite shocked that REs do not warn of potential progesterone deficiency when their patients spot before period. My holistic provider brought it up right away and suggested saliva test to find out (I started taking B vitamins before the test though). Also, apparently those who have celiac disease might have trouble conceiving as it is an autoimmune disorder. Again, you can test whether you have it through a saliva test.

I'm not TTC right now either but this has been a problem for me too. I have a clotting disorder so can't take the pill or hormones like prometrium so I'm grateful to have something else to try.

OMG. Not TTC now but have had this issue forever and had lots of miscarriages when I was TTC. My only successful pg came after I started b vitamins, baby aspirin, and did the prog suppositories. However, I never linked it to the spotting. Just finally got a doc with a clue, I guess.

Wow. Wish I had known this before but grateful that others might benefit from the knowledge.

Thanks for this. I always do too for the few immediate days leading up to flow. I had no idea this might be problematic. Thanks for the tip as well.

I have always experienced the same thing (spotting) and my doctor put me on a progesterone suppository after ovulation - I think it really helped (as I did get pregnant for a second time).

Do you take it every day or just during certain parts of your cycle?

For the past 3-4 years I've been spotting 2-3 days before my period, which REs don't think is detrimental to the TTC process. However, having researched this issue further, I came to the conclusion that it might mean that my progesterone is low and a few fertility books suggested vitamin B to help with that. So last month I startted taking Nature Made brand vitamins B6, B12 and Folic Acid (all in one pill) and this month I had no spotting before my period. Just wanted to share with those who are suffering from the same thing.
