For 15:16: Do you have insight into BH @ 21st and L? Seems like you don't and are talking about a situation at another BH? Like OP, I am interested in hearing from people who have experience at this new center. We have kids in a BH and have had nothing but a positive experience with BH. Thanks for any feedback from folks who are at the 21st and L location.

I am at a BH facility with a 3:1 ratio for infants but when there are fewer than 9 babies, they will sometimes take out one teacher and move her to another room (if they need a sub). My opinion is that you really need 3 teachers for the babies. If one is feeding a baby and another is changing a diaper, then that leaves no one to tend to the remaining children.

Personally, if you can make the logistics work at your current BH I would not risk things by making a switch.

My BH facility was in total dysfunction for over a year with a rotating cast of acting directors and a useless regional director. Things are finally stable, with a new director.

OP here. The center is in the first floor and basement - infants and toddlers upstairs, preschool and pre-K downstairs. We toured and liked the facility and the director (would prefer that no classrooms be downstairs, but it is what it is). Also, in response to PP, we are currently at a BH center that does not appear to have any issues, although I am aware from DCUM of the alarming issues at NSF, and I, too, have some concerns about BH, although the NSF situation is so different from our BH experience that I hope it is an anomaly.

One of my concerns at this new 21st and L location is the 1:4 ratio for infants. I know that is legal in DC, but especially for what BH charges, it seems that they could facilitate a 1:3 ratio, which is what we had with DC #1. That's why I would love to hear from current families at this center to share their (hopefully positive) experience.

Is this the one that is in the basement?

I would also appreciate feedback about this center. We're considering enrolling our DC but am a little nervous given the problems at NSF BH. We met and like the director, but I would be very interested to hear from current parents about the quality of the teachers, what it's been like getting a new center "up and running" etc.

Just to clarify, the person was hired to be assistant director, but was fired from BH completely before ever starting at the 21st and L center.

OP here. Thx for the info so far. We are currently at another BH, and are happy there, but considering this new BH for an easier commute. I've also been following the threads on DCUM about BH NSF, and am just generally concerned about BH and whether transferring to a "new" center is a good idea. So if anyone has additional info about the staff or rooms at this new center, I'd be grateful.

Not the original poster, but familiar with this situation. I wasn't aware that this is the center where the former employee was set to go, but I do know that the employee was promoted to be an ass't director at a different center (eg not NSF) and was getting it ramped up before the issues came up with NSF BH. Once those came to light, the person was let go from BH employment all together.

Are you saying that the assistant director at BH at 21st and L was fired from NSF CDC? If she was such a disaster at NSF and in fact fired from BH why is she still able to be with the organization? Am I understanding your post correctly?

FYI - I think this center opened about 2 weeks ago. The assistant director was supposed to be someone from the NSF CDC. That person was fired from BH about a week ago. You should check the posts about NSF BH.

I am also interested. Has anyone even received acceptance yet?
