I find that the one time I've used a bit of dish soap and water the dish soap will not come off my granite.

I read that vinegar is bad for stone.

A wet dishrag works well, and a little bit of soapy water helps if it is particularly sticky. You need to dry it off with a clean kitchen towel though so that you don't end up with streaks or water spots. Put one in the right hand, the other in the left and wax on / wax off. This is also what the cleaning people use at our house.

Sometimes if I feel like I need to disinfect I use Windex's vinegar product. That you can use like a regular cleaner and don't have to dry afterward.

I was trying all kinds of things and they were leaving streaks on the counter. I had a Lysol wipe in my hand and I used that and found it left no marks or streaks and I felt like it does a good job at cleaning. I use it several times a day.

Daily, I just use a wet rag. If something really bad gets on it, like raw chicken juice, I'll spray the Clorox kitchen spray.

We only use the granite cleaner when the house cleaners come in and do everything.

Usually just a vinegar & water mixture. A few times a week, I'll use a Clorox wipe.

Just a clorox or lysol wipe at the end of the day.

We make our own cleaner - 1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol, couple drops of liquid dish soap and about 1.5 cups of water. I keep it in a spray bottle. I don't use it to wipe up every little thing (I mostly use a plain old wet rag) but will use the spray once a day.

We use the Method granite cleaner.

We use Greenworks (made by Clorox? I forget...) on our granite, and have for several years. The granite in our old house was not sealed (Uba Tuba was the type) and we never had an issue. Not sure about our new house, but we've continued to use the Greenworks and never have an issue. I think the bottle says it is safe for granite.

Just a wet dishrag works fine for me.

I use Greenworks usually, or whatever else is around. I've used stronger stuff like Clorox too, but have tried to cut back on that since having kids. We clean and clean and clean and have never had a problem. If you re-seal every year or so as PP mentioned, you can use pretty much anything.

I would love to know this as well.

FYI, re-sealing your counters every year makes it easier to clean them. It's not hard to do. You do it yourself.

I am looking for some alternatives for cleaning our granite counter tops. I am cleaning them multiple times per day due to the kids and using the speciality granite cleaners is getting expensive at the rate I am using them. Anyone have any suggestions?
