I still have a VHS player.

In fact, I like VHSes more than DVDs.
+1. I still use my VHS to record. Hubby has a DVR for the big scren. I refuse to pay for a DVR when my VHS works perfectly.

We buy disney and other kid videos on VHS to play on my old tv/VCR combo. Cheaper to buy at goodwill than to rent and when we get tired of them we donate them back.

At Value Village they are 5 for a dollar. Or Mondays and Thursdays they are 5 for 75 cents. I think anyone who needs them can probably afford to buy them at VV. They still cheerfully take them though.

Goodwill. Most of the institutions you mention are here with us in the 21st century and don't want your old tapes.

The library by us has a selection of VHS tapes to borrow. If your library doesn't accept them maybe they'd know somewhere that would?

Where can I donate vhs tapes? I swear I have spent like 2 hours googling and haven't come up with hardly anything. I can imagine there are tons of shelters, hospitals or nursing homes that would enjoy having some vhs tapes added to their library but how do I figure out which ones? Anyone have personal experience donating vhs tapes somewhere? DC or MD is preferred but I could go to VA to get these unloaded....
