concern of player safety is silly? what if your kid was injured by a baseball cleat playing soccer? would you still think the same?

Any recommended source for cheap cleats for 10-year-old?

And I did see a ref tell a player he couldn't wear them.

What age?

I had to buy new cleats for my seven-year old for soccer because I had inadvertently bought the wrong kind. But good to know they'll still work for baseball in the spring!

I had the same question for DS, also 6. The way the guy at Sports Authority explained it, you can use soccer cleats for baseball just fine, but don't try to do it the other way around and use baseball cleats for soccer. (B'ball shoes have spikes at the toe, which makes it hard to dig said toe under a soccer ball.)

Word of advice from a laundry-weary t-ball mom: Buy baseball-only socks. That red clay dirt is impossible to get out of your kid's clothes, no matter how good your washer is.

Did the camp say he needed cleats. My kids played tball in just sneakers, which was all that most of the kids were wearing.

Unless you are a technical, high-level athlete, you are not going to be able to tell the difference between specialty shoes. Cleats, flats etc are sufficient, at least until high school. Anything else is just a money grab by shoe manufacturers and marketers.

My son is 6 and wore his soccer cleats to baseball. Some boys did have new baseball cleats but it isn't worth the $$$ for one week of camp. They are fine.

My son age 6 played on a baseball team this spring, and he and most of the kids wore soccer cleats. Some kids didn't even wear cleats. Only 2 kids I can recall had actual baseball cleats.

My son is doing one week of baseball camp this summer. Is is okay for him to wear soccer cleats? He is 6 and has never played baseball but will likely play in the fall. Will he be shunned for wearing soccer cleats?
