No, they are not endangering anyone. Aggressive drivers who don't know the law and refuse to respect bikes that are lawfully riding in the road are endangering everyone.
Also, it is a multi use path, not a bike path, meaning strollers and pedestrians are also using the path.
This is whatthey say every time, on every thread but its total BS. The cyclists ARE endandgering everyone else with their selfish, showboat, weekend warrior, "I have a legal right" to ride in the middle of the road if I want attitude. The wide side path that runs along MacArthur on the way to Glen Echo is rarely used by ANYONE. Additionally, it is more than wide enough for runners, strollers and cyclists. Further, the cyclist on MacArthur RARELY resopcet any of the traffic laws: not the stop siogns, not the lights, nothing. Many, many people are getting sick and tired of these selfish and self-absorbed cyclists making the roads so dangerous for everyone. These cyclists are so intent on shoving their "right to be in the road" down everyone elses' throats that I think has become necessary to change the laws. It is time to start a petition to get bikes out of the streets and back onto bike paths!!!

Anonymous wrote:Bikes are vehicles just like cars. Bicyclists have a right to use the road, just like drivers of cars. If you don't like driving on a road with bicyclists, then choose a different route.
Anonymous wrote:They have a right to ride in the street. If they rode the path they would endanger pedestrians and the speed limit on the path is too low.
