It's a big shower - 60 invitations for a local TV news anchor. SHE wants the G'Town cupcakes, NOT me-- and she is the expectant mom so she gets what she wants. High profile guest list-- and I am happy to seek out a nice cupcake set up with silver cupcake stands or some such other ostentatious display. I am a busy mom of two toddlers. I am not going to run around looking for a circular table, linens, table decor and stands.

Again-- helpful replies are much appreciated.

Neither are the people running a succesful cupcake shop.

Again-- did not ask them to. Asked if they had a LIST of recommended vendors who perform this service.

And frankly-- Their marketing is cute and so if the frosting and decorating-- but my mother makes better cupcakes.

Actually, I only expected G'Town cupcakes to maintain a list of "recommended vendors" who do set up. I would think that they get this type of request so often, they would have folks they could think of who could come create an attractive set-up for customers who requested the service.

The caterer is acting like he is too important to be bothered with teh cupcakes. I didn't pick the caterer, but must use him-- nevermind, it's a long story.

Also, the venue is an open space. I am starting with nothing. I will even need a table. I know the anonymity here gives you guys free reign to mock me, but I was seriously seeking advice. Hadn't been here in a while. This place use to be helpful.

Where are you having the shower? Can the location supply at least the table, if not the linens and stands? For a shower of that size, I'm guessing you're having it at a hotel or restaurant. I get your frustration at hunting down items you don't really care about for a friend's party but...I'm also not surprised Georgetown Cupcake doesn't do set up or recommend companies that do. They're a cupcake shop, not an event planning business.

This is not snarky, this is a serious question: If you are so busy (which I sincerely believe you are), and this is such a high profile event, why did you volunteer to help organize it? Because you must admit that getting so upset about GT cupcakes not fulfilling a role that they in no way purport to fulfill is kind of a waste of energy.

LOL! Ditto. OP, what on earth makes you think that Georgetown Cupcakes would provide that kind of service. Do you expect that kind of service from any other food establishment? Although, I have to admit, the one thing I don't agree with is that GT cupcakes are overrated. I think they're really good. But I don't think that they're a catering company.

Thanks for the laugh OP. Here's an idea - go to Crate & Barrel and buy a table cloth and the tiered serving stands (I am partial to the rectangular ones - they hold about 14-16 Gtown cupcakes per plate, so about 30 per stand) and put the cupcakes on them.

How large is this baby shower? All we're talking about is getting a table, spreading a tablecloth over it, and then arranging the cupcakes attractively.

If you want more than this, like flowers or punch or little sparkles tossed on the table, and you really can't handle it yourself, then you need to get a caterer, and tell the caterer they will have to deal with the cupcakes that will be delivered.

Can't you get to a party store and buy your own linens? Or just order something nicer online? Can't another attendee lend you the requisite card tables, if you don't have enough tables?

I have to admit, I am kind of miffed at Georgetown Cupcake.

I am planning a baby shower and I called about catering-- which of course they do, but they don't have anyone to come do table setup.

Okay, that's fine, I get that-- not their focus. However, they also do NOT have a list of recommended vendors that do table set-up. I don't know about you, but I find this absolutely inconceivable considering that their cupcakes are among the most sought after desserts for events around this city.

Venting done. Anyone know of someone who can come set up the Georgetown cupcakes? Will need table linens, stands, etc.
