I believe that homosexuality is a sin and also a type of addiction, much like alcoholism. Should one of my children turn out to be gay or alcoholic I would still love them unconditionally and also present alternatives when possible. At some point you have to realize that your children are people who will pursue their own lives regardless of your input.

Who cares if you're a christian? Nobody said you were--the PPs were talking about their faither. Koran, Bible, Torah, whatever. None of it is relevant to your question anyway. Of course he doesn't speak to you about it, how could he? I don't even know you (or care about you and your opinions) and I'm put off by the way you feel about this--the disgust is palpable through the internet. Imagine how your son must feel it. He wants your love and approval (regardless of age), and he's clearly not getting it--at least not on this. I find it really hard to believe that you can discuss this with him without showing your distaste.

It's quite sad for your son. I hope you both come to terms with it, because frankly, this isn't a lifestyle choice.

He knows how wrong YOU think this lifestyle is. If you're as religious as you say your are, this will be your biggest test of faith. Have faith in your son. Have faith that God loves all. And, frankly, this has nothing to do with god. Love him, accept him, and be there for him...NO MATTER WHAT. Separate how hard this is for "you" from how hard this is for him. He is your son. Deal with him first.

There is nothing wrong with him, or this "lifestyle." Please don't make this harder on him than it needs to be.

So you think that who is is and the person God created him to be is "wrong". People who think like this make me so sad. I grew up in church and the message I remember was that God loves us ALL. That we should not judge others. That Jesus would have accepted your son with open arms (have you read the bible? Jesus embraced everyone). Also do you know that the passage that condemns homesexuality also condemns eating shellfish and wearing clothing made of two materials. Isn't it interesting how we still choose homosexuality to condemn but just dive right into that lobster. Have you checked the tag on what you're wearing right now? Is it a blend? Hmmmm according to the bible you should be condemned then. Give me a break. I pray your son finds the love and acceptance is so deserves. If he were my son I would accept him exactly the way he is...because God created him that way. No wonder he won't speak to you.
