Another vote for Sabra! I also like whole foods brand. A tip to perk up store bought hummus - swirl evoo on the top and squirt lemon juice on top - if you have a can of chick peas, make a little well in the middle and put some chick peas in it.

Homemade! My recipe is 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained, 0.25 cup each of water, olive oil, and tahini, 3 tbsp lemon juice, 2 cloves garlic, pinch of salt, paprika or some kind of dried chili pepper. Throw everything in food processor, process to desired smoothness. So easy, and you can adjust amounts to match your preferences.
I think Alton Brown also just did hummus on his show, starting from dried chickpeas which he cooks in a slow-cooker for creamy texture.

I prefer Hanna over Sabra--both are sold at Costco.

Or, OP, was it TJ's "Mediterranean Hummus"? Love that stuff.

OP -- was the Trader Joe's one the kind that has layers -- with regular, basil, and one other (I forget). I LOVE that stuff.

I like the Sabre (red top) regular flavor. They sell it in huge containers at Costco for ~$7 and small containers at the regular grocery stores for ~$4-5.

I forgot to add that it can't be spicy or contain a ton of garlic!

I LOVE the Whole Foods brand lemon hummus. Delicious.

If you just have regular grocery stores to choose from, I think Sabra is the best widely-available brand.

I recently had some delish hummus from Trader Joe's and am hooked on it as a healthy snack. I don't get there very often so I was wondering what brands of hummus are your favorites that I can find in my regular grocery store? Are they all basically the same? Any favorite flavors? Thanks in advance!
