Also surprised to hear Concord Hill described as traditional. We applied this year. The pre-k classes follow Reggio Emilia, which I would consider extremenly "progressive." Don't know anything about Lowell, but would not consider this the right term for the distinction PP is trying to describe.

I have two children at Concord Hill, and this is surprising to me, since I don't think of it as very traditional. it is very nurturing and child-centric, IMO. yes, teachers are called "Mrs," but what do you mean by super-traditional? Genuinely curoius, since that hasn't been our experience.

Agree with PP that these are very different schools in terms of philosophy of education. Other big differences are diversity (Lowell has lots of racial and other types of diversity, Concord Hill not so much) and end point (CH ends much earlier).

It wasn't the best approach for our DD, so we left. Given that I would choose Lowell, but it is a personal decision.
