Tistadt is the most powerful person in the Fairfax county school system. He and his staff set the agenda, and he is accountable to no one.

his holier-than-thou attitude is impossible to take, and he has obviously failed at the Dale Carnegie "How To Make Friends and Influence People" course,

Hmmm... They said the same thing about Michelle Rhee in DC and everyone loved her...

No -- our school system is one of the best in the country, he has made strides to close the gap for lower income children and he is trying to get FCPS a break from the stifling NCLB policies and plan for the future of education with technology and individual plans. They're doing a good job handling the budget issues. I don't get why some people are so obsessed with narrow issues (closing a small neighborhood school, disciplinary issues) and can't see how great the school system is. And, to the PP who said his contract should not be renewed, he has already said he is not seeking renewal when his contract expires in 2013.

FCPS allows bullying of teachers by teachers and administrators. It goes without saying that those behaviors are witnessed by kids who in turn listen to anti bullying and go "yeah whatever". That whole system is sooooo corrupt it is unbelievable.

At what point did it become okay for FFx Co. administers to starting bullying parents and children?

Sounds like your kid was busted for pot twice.

I agree. I do hope his contract is not renewed and I hope the board does a better job at finding a replacement.

agree - the real question is - why hasn't jack dale asked dean tisdtat to resign? any COO who acts so contemptuously and with obvious malice towards the constituents in the parent population and colludes with corrupt school board practices should have been asked to leave immediately - instead of having jack dale's fcps complaining about foia requests. there is no honour with jack dale - no sense of duty, no sense of composure - all of which are important traits and required of an effective community leader - it's rather depressing to watch how amateurish the leadership of our school system is

Go back to school and brush up on your Language Arts. The errors in your post will make a 4th grader blush.

what does the silly school-marmish response have to do with the issue at hand re: jack dale? who cares if the OP is perfect at grammar? what about jack dale, the fcps school board and the rampant corruption and unethical policies under his tenure and that of the current school board?
