It is very strange and so sad for family. I can understand having alcohol in system but as article says "acute" alcohol intoxication is a step above that - and she was so intoxicated that she couldn't get out of car. She would have then been driving drunk.

I suppose it's possible that she drank a lot, and if I recall, you actually get drunker for a while after you stop drinking. Plus, from the pictures, she looked pretty petite.

But still, I am completely suspicious of this whole thing. The police knew immediately that there was no foul play? I don't buy it.

Unfair to call her an alcoholic. Maybe she had a late night with friends or colleagues. Happens all the time.

That's not what anyone's saying. But this doesn't fit with the pattern of a high-functioning alcoholic (and yes, I have a few relatives who are alcoholics). Frankly, it's very suspicious to me.

So because she had a good job and is a mother, she couldn't have possibly died from alcohol poisoning. Seems obvious to me she was an alcoholic, not sure why everyone is in a state of denial.

agreed. And if one is too drunk to get out of the car how is one able to operate the vehicle? she would have crashed way before...

I agree that the story is very strange. A working mother in that high position would drive drunk to an important early work meeting??

The way the story is written is very odd. Adding the alcohol poisoning to the bottom of the story as if it were no big deal, when it has to be the very reason she died. It's very sad, and I'm assuming it's not the last we'll hear about it.

The report said acute alcohol intoxication contributed to her death. That's code for alcohol poisoning, certainly more than a bottle of wine. Who knows what happened but it's all very sad.

5AM and drunk is very weird for a mother...if she isn't an alcoholic.

It still seems very fishy to me. Seems like one of those "Dateline"-type stories.

I heard that BMW was looking into this accident. The intoxication is a bit strange, still a very sad story.

Very strange about the alcohol intoxication, as she was leaving early in the morning to go to work for an important event. It seems that her husband would be able to shed some light -- i.e., whether she had been drinking the night before.
