HHI currently 105k, soon to be 270k (one of us about to finish law school).
Net worth is about 400-500k, depending on how pessimistically I value the house. No student loans or CC debt, but have about 280k left on our mortgage.
This thread is actually making me realize that I've lost track of how much is in our retirement and investment accounts - a good reminder to sit down for a family budget summit soon!

We're early 30's and our net worth is roughly equal with our income. Both around 180K.

Anyone know what a financial adviser would advise your net worth should be at each age?

But - to get your net worth, you need to measure ALL liabilities against ALL assets, so your net worth is negative.

We make $200k and have a net worth of $287k - early 30s.

Isn't the point of net worth to compare your assets to your debts? What you're calculating isn't your net worth; sounds more like you are totaling up liquid assets.

We make $135k per year and have a net worth of about 600k, most of which is tied up in real estate. (I bought an apartment in DC at the right time and DH and I were lucky not to have any school debt.)

We make $130K, and I'd say we are slightly positive in net worth, maybe $20,000 or so.

All these households making $500k a year - I'd like to know if they have millions, or if they spend much of it.

What possible use is this info? A joke, surely.
