Only a small fraction are available for instant viewing. I think this will be changing in the future as Netflix is trying to move toward being a mostly streaming service. It depends on them being able to purchase the rights to stream material from the content providers. A lot of movie studios are currently squeamish about doing do and the industry doesn't seem to have arrived at an appropriate price for streaming content.

On Netflix Instant I recently watched "Holy Rollers," about Hasidic kids (the main one played by Jesse Eisenberg, from Adventureland) who become drug mules. Pretty good.

If you're looking for something escapist, the Sandra Bullock movie "The Proposal" was fairly entertaining.

If you like documentaries, I loved Man on Wire, a documentary about a French acrobat who walked a tightrope between the Twin Towers in the 1970s, and Touching the Void, about a mountain climbing disaster. I recently watched Broken Embraces, which was good if you can get into Pedro Almodovar's over the top melodrama style. The first two movies of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy are also out on instant play (the original Swedish versions).

This was the first movie I saw on Netflix and OMG it was a shocking tear jerker. Hard to believe it really did happen.
