Agreed. And a makeup artist and lighting can allow you to pull off gray.

My FIL saw Andrea Mitchell at a wedding about 10 years ago and said she had horrible skin. Guess the camera hides that. I think she looks much older than 64 - surprised to hear she was that young.

It's so sad that these women think they have to have surgery - I mean, a journalist and a politician (Pelosi) - it's not like they are trying to squeeze one more romantic comedy in before they are too old (thinking of Jennifer Aniston here).

I'm all for taking care of yourself, being active and fit, maintaining a healthy weight and eating well and exercising, and if you can afford it, getting facials and keeping your hair looking great with a great cut and color. But the surgery thing - it looks desperate and fake. On celebs I think it is different because they have control over make up and lights - I'm sure Courtney Cox looks odd in person with no make up but on TV she looks damn good.

I'm not naive to think that Nancy and Andrea don't have to worry about looks, but surgery seems to be taking it too far. We wouldn't elect an 18 year old and we wouldn't want to watch a 22 year old interview someone, so why can't they just look "good for their age."

It's hard to evaluate surgery with one's conception of natural. This is exactly why these women are getting surgery, so they don't look natural. But Andrea Mitchell's face is attractive and when she talks, all her facial parts move. It helps that she has great hair.

Speaking of wattle, is surgery the only cure?

PP again...though not nearly as bad as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I don't think Andrea Mitchell's plastic surgery makes her look older because she is an appropriate age for some touch-ups...whereas the housewives are too young for all that work and it makes them look much older than they are.

not Pelosi's -botox-, her surgery. ie, there is no wattle there, and very little jowl.

I agree with you on the botox/ frozen fright thing, but whoever made her wattle non-existent is a genius.

Are you kidding about Nancy Pelosi? I thought she was considered the worst plastic surgery in town. I was in the gym the other day and she was being interviewed, and after she was done I overheard some guy who was also watching say, "Wow. Botox."

I don't think Nancy is fooling anyone. Andrea does look good.

She does look terrific. Anyone know what procedures she's had done?

I love seeing a woman who's past her youth really seem to be reaching the best stage of her life. She looks the best she ever has, she has her own show now on MSNBC, seems to have a happy personal life. Good for her. An inspiration.

also, I was thinking similar thoughts about Pelosi. She looks somewhat younger than her age but doesn't have "windblown face."

She's 64 and looks great, but not all tight and pulled and unnatural.
