My Daughter (Virginia in-state) got into Syracuse with a 30K a year merit scholarship, making it 60K a year.
Syracuse is a great school, but William and Mary was 60K cheaper for her over four years, and Virginia Tech was 120K CHEAPER over four years, and that is with Syracuse being 1/3 off the sticker price. The value is just not there.

No one would dispute that Syracuse, or nearly any college, for free is well-done and "worth it."
The real question is whether it's decently competitive for people paying, whether that is full rack rate or some discounted version.
By most accounts, the market is saying "no," which is why they are struggling financially and missing enrollment numbers.

Great for you but the cost is absurd for undergrad.
Also, they failed to meet their enrollment this year, leaving them with a budget deficit.
Doesn't mean syracuse will fold or significantly change, but it does indicate a problem.
