Your medical insurance will expect your car insurance to initially pick up your medical bills. I was surprised to learn this. DS was in an accident and when I took him to be checked for a concussion the provider required me to pay in full and encouraged me to submit to my auto insurance for reimbursement. They wouldn’t submit to CareFirst. On the bright side, auto insurance covered 100% (no deductibles or copays or networks to worry about). Also the auto insurance will cover lost wages which health insurance does not.
