The admissions office knows us, our eldest child is well-liked and gets good grades, and we're active members of the community.
Do we need to go to all of the admissions events?

We have three children and applied our middle child for pre-K when our eldest was in 1st (had attended since pre-K entry year) and attended zero admissions open houses. As our friend said, we’d already expressed $60K worth of interest for three years in the form of tuition for our older child and volunteered and donated etc.

Unless there is an expectation that all applicants’ families go to open houses or there is a very large gap between kids or your second kid is older and would actually benefit from attending with you I don’t think there is any value.

I would use common sense. If you already have one kid in the lower school, attending an event with general info about the lower school makes no sense. On the other hand, an event for prospective high school students to meet current student would be great. There will be an opportunity for you to convey your interest level during the app process. Don’t worry about the number of events attended.

It depends on the applying sibling's age, with the amount you need to do increasing with his or her age.
