LOVE IT! Know many Owens (early-mid 20's) and a few in their 50's.

I've never heard of the wrestler.

I don't know any Owens, but I don't like the name much. I don't have negative associations though.

I have an 18yo Owen who is kind, empathetic, hilarious, and smart.

I think of the Owen by Kevin Hinkes picture book. I am a teacher with a current student named Owen and he is annoying ASF.

Every Owen I've met has been whiny, and a wimp who's never willing to put in hard work - the kind of kid who cries when not picked first, who manually changes his grade to a higher one rather than study harder, and in one case, always had snot on his face for a solid six or seven years at the beginning of his life.

I think of the character Owen Hunt from Greys Anatomy.
And I have a nephew (mid 20s) named Owen.

My first thought was "Are you Welsh"?

I am familiar with "Owen Meany" but it's a really old book now (1989) and I don't think that will be an issue. And it's not a kid's book either.

I associate it with unmedicated ADHD (elementary teacher)

Never heard about that Owen, OP.

The Owen my kid grew up with was very nice, friendly and smart. Thumbs up!

I think of Owen Wilson and about 13 kids under 7 that I know named Owen.

I have never heard of Owen Hart. And my cultural literacy is pretty good!

I love love love the name Owen.

If you asked me to think of an Owen, I would say Wilson. But I don't necessarily associate it with him if that makes sense.

A great choice IMHO

My nephew’s 2 year old son is named Owen. He is absolutely adorable. I think it’s a very cute name for a sweet little boy.

I used to think mainly of the WWF wrestler Owen Hart. Given that tragedy that was well known in the late nineties or early 2000s. It is still on my list and that association is now leaving me and I like the name more and more.

I have never met anyone that I can recall named Owen. No classmates over the years that I remember bore this name.

What are the Owen’s in your life like? Good associations or Bad associations with this name?

Does it feel dated?
