Cox Farms in Centerville has a super cute and free farm thing every Saturday with live music hayride and treats for sale like bbq sandwiches donuts and little ice cream cones. You can feed goats and llamas. Lots of climbing play structures.

Port Discovery in Baltimore was a fantastic activity “museum” for young kids.

The National Zoo is an obvious choice.
The Baltimore Zoo was expensive, but more fun.

Parks:
Watkins Regional Park has the Wizard of Oz playground, along with other attractions.
Wheaton Regional Park has the butterfly pavilion (fee), along with other attractions

There’s probably a library near you that has children’s programming, check your public library’s calendar.

Go to one of the outdoor pools one day, or even 2 days, try two different ones.
Go to Great Falls ( either side) and have a picnic. There are short hikes and overlooks on the Va side. MD is more of an out and back but has fun bridges to walk over.
Walk around Brookside gardens if it’s not too hot
Cabin John playground has lots of shade, and a train

Montgomery County. We have a car so travel isn't an issue. Maybe the Hagerstown Aviation Museum is worth it.

Due to Juneteenth, then rolling into teacher improvement day, it's a five day weekend. With a 3 and 2 year old, any ideas for activities?

Yes I follow Kidfriendlydc Blog and know DC is an option. However, with the redline closure, maybe there are other ideas I am missing?

I should clarify I am not opposed to going into DC but yeah... Unfortunately they are too young to visit the ships in Norfolk. We have a car and will travel. It's also not best for overnights. Thank you for any ideas.
