4th quarter (in a rolling gradebook, this is a year’s worth of assessments and assignments)
Final exam (not all classes will have this)
Final grade (the combination of 4q and final exam averages together in whatever percents were in the original syllabus.
We have to “post” grades to push them into the transcript. We can repost a million times until the final deadline, so if one kid took the final early or needed final grades early due to graduation/checking out early/whatever, likely the teacher just posted the whole class because it’s simpler. They then kept adjusting 4Q grades as work/assignments roll in, and will repost the grade when it’s all finalized.
If they already did their final exam/all work is complete and the final grade doesn’t make sense, please reach out to the teacher.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Sometimes we have to overwrite it. Gradebook might say B+ but student m might get A- and it will now show up it if finalizes
I understand the three grades 4th quarter (rolling gradebook), final exam, and final grade.
The issue is in SIS I see different grades between the gradebook tab and the report card/final period tab.
For example, gradebook tab shows 97 for 4qtr, final exam 84 (one part missing a grade) and final mark as 95 (made up numbers)
The report card/final period tab shows 4th qtr A-, final exam B+, final mark A-.
I’m trying to understand if DC needs to reach out to the teacher. Not sure which grades they are going with…

Report cards show just letter grade. Do transcripts that go to colleges also show just letter grade or do they show grade and percentage out of 100?
