MCPS already cut 5 days out of the school year due to weather. You want them to cut another 4 for "the last week of school"?

Actually it's not. In real life, most people get excused, unless it's deadly serious. In college, at work, even for certain administrative tasks... you can get deadlines extended or stuff waived.

My high schooler is on a college tour right now. She submitted a form ahead of time that her teachers had to sign. Some excused her for all remaining assignments, and some just said she could bring her laptop and complete the work online, which she's doing (it's super easy work, no one's plumbing new depths of multivariable calculus in the last week of school). For sickness, provided you communicate with the teachers and attendance office, I bet you could get all the work excused.

It might be fine but if she's sick tomorrow too this might be necessary-- probably doesn't hurt for you as the parent to email the teachers directly, say your kid is sick and you're glad to do anything they'd like to prove it's legit, your kid is worried about their grades, and ask what can be done.

OP, she should emails her teachers and ask. I will bet they just excuse the assignment.

Think about the students working hard and taking school serious. I guess the kids can't help it if their parents are playing games.

Oh sorry sorry. . When students miss tests and quizzes they should either get a full score or a brownie karen pass. It's super cereal.

Email the teacher and explain the situation. The teacher will tell you whether they will waive them or whether she can/should make them up later in the week.

My kid is missing Monday and Tuesday this week to see family before we move out of state next week. Her teachers already told me she is just being excused and exempted from whatever they might do this week.
