There is no curriculum. Everyone does benchmark and everything else is just slide decks from the county. What are they “buying”?

AAP kids are doing this as well; Our DD Algebra II class in MS - most of the kids have already done it at RSM. If you are heading into Algebra II to learn for the first time - trouble. The teacher makes the tests harder knowing most will score a 100 if it's normal HS test.

This is so school dependent. I’ve never had an 8th grader be in “trouble” because they were taking A2H for the first time in my room.

Parents need to stop obsessing over AAP

My son does Kumon, he is now doing 6th grade at 4th grade. He had some struggle with fraction operations because the calculation was quite tedious. But clear sailing once he hit pre-algebra.

He is an outliner who likes Kumon more than school. Many kids hate it.

RSM learns ahead in a more systematic way.

Beast Academy is self-paced and it's hard to keep track without external monitor.

Competition math won't get him ahead of grade level. You actually need to learn ahead first and then do competition math. Like most math competitions would be easier if the kid knows algebra.

Apply for part-time services. They may be placed in advanced math, and then there is really little difference.

Agree, have a kid who only had part time services who had no problems with middle school honors classes this year

Does your child like math and want to do extra math?

My kid loves competition math, that is why he does it.

You can place your kid in A1H in 7th grade if you want. But I would listen to your kid. School isn’t a competition. Your kid will be fine for college if they take Calculus as a senior.
