Have an exterminator check your carport for mouse droppings and nests before you start storing things there. The DC area has so many mice!

We store all our ski clothes in the attic from April to December. I also have a couple of hanging bags in the attic for excess seasonal clothing.

Work clothes, weekend clothes, gym clothes, PJs, sweaters. Takes up more space then I have.

Some dry cleaners will store your winter clothes. I'm assuming woolens?

Depends on fabrics. Synthetics are probably fine. Be aware of moths and carpet beetles. Maybe mice.

I also store clothing in bins in my attic, which is the hottest but also the driest part of my house. Around here I would worry more about humidity than temperature if I was storing clothing in a carport

I store clothes in the attic in the summer. It gets very hot but I have never noticed any issues. I keep things for many years.

No, it's too hot here and fibers will start to break down.

We have bins in our carport with outside tools, etc... in the them, but not fabric.

Does the summer heat damage winter coats, gloves, etc. if I keep these items in a sealed bin in my carport?

I don’t have a basement or garage but I have a large outdoor carport and carport attic. I want to put those winter items in bins for the summer.
