Sometimes it's the women who have the affairs and move in with the AP, screwing over his wife, her husband, and all the kids. Many aren't rich and that's the problem.

You didnt say which state but note that VA recently updated their CS guidelines so be careful what you wish for, you may end up paying more.

No, my husband's ex filed with no change of circumstance, no issue. She also demanded that my income be included in the child support guidelines. She lied about her income/household and refused to provide documentation. Courts don't care if the custodial parent does that, as there is no accountability for them. The ex ended up getting much less and a big attorney bill.

In reality, there is no point, as if mom is restricting access, even if Dad gets a better court order, she will not follow it. You cannot reason with the unreasonable.

It depends on the situation. My husband's got completely readjusted, but his ex filed for more money when we got married based on our HHI/my income, which she wasn't eligible for (she didn't disclose her AP/boyfriend who paid the rent's income or that he was even in the home) and lied ot the court about it. His income didn't go up, and some of the kids were over 18, so there was a reduction due to removing kids and readjusting it for the remaining kids. The sad part was that he offered to renegotiate out of court and continue to pay for the older kids and she refused. They wasted so much money with attorney's/him with flights she got much much less in the end. Courts are generally there to protect mom/CP. He just needs to file in court and as for updated guidelines and a new schedule and if needed, ask for a custody evaluation. Even if he gets visits, if she refuses, not much the courts will do.

TLDR
How successful would DH be in renegotiating terms of Support/Custody Orders? What would need to happen?

We believe there was malpractice on the end of form that DH hired, that’s another story. We do not have any insight to financials, no counter offers, appeals or requests for discovery were made on his behalf.

What needs to be done to modify the orders? We’re also in the process of filing a complaint with state bar.

Just any insight would be helpful and appreciated.
