Poplar Tree doesn't do subject specific in the younger grades K-2, only starting in grade 3 if not admitted to full time AAP. Even then I heard they have to test into Advanced Math each unit, placement is not even guaranteed for the full year.

My 1st grader who scored a 96 percentile on the MAP and can do multiplication, simple division, fractions, and negative numbers didn't get picked up for any subject-specific AAP. He scores perfectly on school work too for math. The AART said he didn't demonstrate a need for differentiated instruction.
Meanwhile my third grader whose grades are lower than the 1st grader gets subject-specific language arts.
Doesn't make any sense to me.
