HRT doesn’t cure frozen shoulder. Go to a good PT that does strength training.

cortisone shots can help in the moment but degrade the shoulder long term

Frozen shoulder is hell! Go see a PT and also check in with your doctor. Whatever PT you are prescribed along the way, do it. I got lazy about it and now my shoulder never got back to where it was before.

I am 48 and suffering from it as well.
No signs of peri so far but probably related.

I had 1 infiltration, the pain is gone but i cant lift my arm up like before.

I go to physical therapy twice a week and stretch or do exercises. Its better week after week and i repeat the exercise that i can at home.

Hope you feel better soon op !

PT here and agree that it takes 9 months +/- to heal in most cases. PT can help and can minimize after effects. I would never recommend surgery within the first year.

I went to an orthopedic surgeon and she referred me to PT. We gave it 6 mo the and if it didn’t get better, we were going to do surgery. Between PT, strength training and time, it resolved.

OP here, thanks everyone. It's a lot more serious than I thought!

Just wait it out. Mine came on strong and then magically disappeared in about a year - before I went on HRT. Happy it was only one of my arms.

It takes a year to heal. No matter what you do.

PT, a really skilled massage therapist and time. Took about a year for it to mostly resolve. The shoulder does still feel a little off. I go for massages about once a month still, but no more pt.

I have had a frozen shoulder. go to the doctor and have them suggest the best form of treatment, it could be at easy at PT. I had to go under anesthesia to have it broken up then had pt. Have head no issues since

I have regular periods but increasing perimenopause symptoms and frozen shoulder hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday. I've had twinges in my upper arms for months but now I can not extend one arm as high above my head as the other and I am having significant pain. I've been stretching it a lot and this morning is a little better than last night. If you had frozen shoulder, what has worked for you? I'm not a great candidate for HRT based on family breast and ovarian cancer history, unfortunately, and I'm very physically active but don't do any strength training. Thanks!
