Saint Anselms Abbey. No computer allowed in classrooms. Even notes must be taken by hand. Majority of English essays are written during class where teacher sees draft before it goes home.

Montessori should be started about age 3. If a child develops in this environment they will behave differently than in a conventional setting. If you try to transfer at older ages it doesn’t work.

Following - have been trying to figure out how I can find this information. Agree this is such a terrible trend.

Alright why don’t we just rank the top schools (for elementary school especially) on a scale of 1-10, 1 being never use technology ever and personal cell phones are confiscated each morning until school day is over. 10 being the school uses technology for everything, requires most assignments to be submitted electronically on school laptop or tablet, and lets kids use their cell phone all day during class. Please explain why you rated the elementary school that way and feel free to add a rating for middle school and HS school as well.

Ideally I want the school to be secular, but religious schools are ok if they are not intense and treat students from non religious backgrounds nicely.

I am very concerned with the widespread use of tablets, laptops and school districts rolling out AI into elementary school classrooms. I don’t want my kids to use any tech at all until they are done with elementary school. The data is very clear that computers, tablets and AI basically have no measurable benefit to kids education and they are likely detrimental. What are the best private schools to look at sending my kids to in NOVA or DC?
