Old Town? Perhaps a couple streets. South Arlington is as dumpy as its ever been.

Del Ray was nice when I moved here 25 years ago. I should know, I lived there 15 years.

Springfield covers a lot of territory, OP. Some neighborhoods are to be avoided and some are quite nice. Just like most places.

I don't think this is true. I was in Annandale and Falls Church recently. They were not desirable areas 25 years ago, and the areas I was in were fairly nice. People still don't use public schools as much though.

Who cares? Newer Whole Foods, 2 Trader Joe’s, 3 great American restaurants, some good mom and pop Thai, Peruvian chicken places and free parking without garages. A great park and trails. We love the area!
