Considering the way it ended, I'd be surprised if there is a second season, but the twist does give the writers some potentially interesting options.

This is exactly why I have been hesitant to try it. I like her in just about anything except the one from a couple years ago I think called Marriage.

I started this last night because I like Nicola Walker and I thought a 30 minute show would be a good change. The beginning of episode one was a grating info dump to establish the supposedly deep friendship between Alice and Steve. They didn't mention (or I missed it) that they were also former lovers, which is mentioned in episode two.

So they have this deep friendship (and a sexual past) and presumably spend a lot of time together, yet Steve and the daughter (can't remember her name) suddenly one random night have a connection and have amazing sex and realize how much they have in common - was the spark there at any time prior during the years since the daughter became an adult?

The Steve and daughter actors have zero chemistry, which I can't believe wasn't obvious to the showrunners in a screen test. She is a young looking 26 and is small and delicate and literally looks like a child next to him on the couch.

Alice herself suggests that Steve have a relationship with a younger woman but goes nuts when the younger woman is her daughter.

I made it through two episodes and will try a few more but first impression was ICK.

Alice and Steve have about the same age difference. Whatever, I just didn't buy the romantic connection with River. I liked the series despite the relationship. I'm glad you loved it.

Looking beyond the fact this is such a gross concept, there is no chemistry between the leads. She is a super young looking beautiful 26 year old and he is an old looking 50 year old. They talk about all their great sex but again, no chemistry.

Right. But she would have known him as "Uncle Steve" ffs. I get maybe Nicola Walker wanted a different kind of role, and she does give it her all, but there is no getting around the premise. Especially with the actor they cast. Maybe, maybe with an uber charming silver fox who cared deeply for her, and it suddenly intensified into something grown up. But this guy, with this dialogue? Just no.
