Wow. Thanks for letting us know how to try perfumes on! Way to mansplain on an anonymous forum!!!

Get a new one for Father's Day from your kids. Get rid of current bottle.

If the whole house smells of it, he's putting on WAY too much. If I can smell someone's perfume after they've left a room, or in any circumstance other than a hug, it's too much. Lots of folks need to dial it back. It's easy to get acclimated to your own perfume and overdo it. You need to tell him bc he is for sure offending others who don't have the standing to tell him he smells like a Persian car salesman.

There's a whole other thread on racism you can join after this.

Perfume and cologne is so bad for you, full of phthalates and other stuff. I can't believe anyone still wears it.

Why is a grown man with a wife and kids wearing cologne?

I love perfume, and buy tiny samples from specialty stores online before choosing larger bottles. The selection in brick and mortars is minuscule compared to the sum total of what's out there. I have a ton of perfume, and pick one every day based on mood. I don't put a lot, so basically it's just me smelling it. If he loves his perfume, get him a non-spray version so he needs to dab it on - it won't be so offensive to others.

NP but I’m curious where you are able to purchase samples? I’d love to do this!

My go to store is Surrender To Chance, but there are others: the test tubes are tiny and very affordable. They're just meant to acquaint you with the scent profile, so you can decide whether you like it or not. Sometimes individual perfume houses will offer their own samples (much larger than the teeny ones from sampling companies, and more expensive). I have one such box from my favorite perfumer, Serge Lutens.

Maybe buy him a fragrance you love? My DH is constantly getting compliments about how good he smells. People including men ask him what he’s wearing. Maybe it’ll suit your DH too? Armani Code. Just amazing on my DH.

FFS you are raising children. You should not have to crowdsource this matter.

It’s not a bad smell, but I’m just so over it. He’s been wearing it for nearly two years and I’m just so over the smell. Every morning he sprays it. Even DD has started complaining that the whole house smells like his cologne. When he first started wearing it I loved it! Now it just makes me want to gag. But how do I tell him this without it making him think we have been letting him walk around smelling offensively? I’m about ready to “accidentally” break the bottle. Oops!
