I miss having the duvets with covers that are washed every time. The top flat sheet always comes undone and I hate having to touch the duvet.

I don't know when hotels stopped using fitted bottom sheets but they need to bring them back. The top sheet used as a bottom sheet rarely fits and comes undone as soon as you try to sleep. Who thought this was a good idea? Maybe we need a Moveon petition.

The hotels also need to put the comforters inside duvet cover. It is gross when the top/bottom sheets move at night and I end up touching the inner comforter/blanket everybody else also touches.

I wonder how often they wash those decorative runners/pillow cases?

They weren’t washing those duvet covers between guests so I prefer the sheets. But I agree I hate when it moves and the duvet is exposed. Ick! I now have a strategy where I fold down the top of the covers an extra time to keep it in place.

I had to stay in a Motel 6 recently on work travel to a remote location immediately followed by a stay at a Grand Hyatt and I was shocked to find that I preferred the old-school "fitted sheet, flat sheet, fuzzy brown blanket" Motel 6 setup to the upscale hotel.

Obviously the linens were higher quality at the Hyatt, but the pillows were so thick even using just one gave me a crick in my neck and the duvet was so hot I had to sleep with half my body uncovered. It was almost a "they were so preoccupied with whether they could that they didn't stop to consider if they should" situation with putting the fanciest linens they could without even considering if they were actually comfortable.

Only because they slap it on. If they were tucking it properly, a fitted sheet would be easier. And if you are going to advertise magical bedding, it should matter more what the customer wants.

I can see why given the volume of laundry hotels do. Flat sheets are easier to fold and it's easier when you only have one type of sheet to keep track of.

It always comes undone for me when I pull out the topsheet/comforter. I can't sleep with those tucked in!

Agree. I think this is the issue though. For those people that keep everything tucked in, it probably isn't a problem. It comes out every time I pull out the duvet and REAL top sheet.

I stayed at a Westin recently and the bottom sheet wasn't even big enough to tuck in. It was just laid over the top.

Now you're basically in a flat sheet napolean pastry that all falls apart.
