NASA is testing a new aircraft design (X-59) designed to minimize the sonic boom.
Separately, Boom Supersonic has tested the XB-1 which is a scaled down test aircraft. They plan to build a smaller sized (not a jumbo jet with 300 passengers) supersonic passenger plane. AA, JAL, and UA have placed pre-orders, but it is likely those have liberal cancellation clauses.
Likely routes remain overseas flights, not domestic, because supersonic flight is much less fuel efficient than ordinary flight.
