That is so tacky.

OP-a formal paper invitation should be mailed for a formal wedding. Inside the invitation should be an insert for a wedding website with all the details of events, hotels, registry.

Yep this.

False. You do NOT send guests registry info. Jesus, you people are neanderthals.

The evite isn't tacky but it is lame.

The link to give them money is tacky and completely gross.

I'd rsvp no. Not going to be a fun time.

I prefer a traditional invite with an online links for gift registries and hotel info.

Extremely tacky, but young people don't seem to care about the old etiquette rules IME.

How does a couple notify guests that they are invited? Send the online link by email or text?

I can see where including a Zelle link for a wedding seems tacky at first, but this generation may not even have paper checks. So the only way to gift money is the way they trade funds when they are with friends - Zelle or Venmo.

The online info is great. But I think I would still send a paper invite through the mail if I were getting married now.

Times change, I guess. If you prefer, you can still give them a tangible gift even if they don't have a registry.

Of course it’s digital, are you insane?

Everything is online everybody can check the schedule. Everybody can figure out when the welcome time is what time to be there where it is.

Everybody can check where the hotels are make their reservation reservations through that.

They can figure out brunch is the day after it’s all listed there.

You don’t have to wait for the wedding to figure out who bridesmaids are.

You think writing a check is more or less fancy than sending it through Venmo? Are you daft?

I’m 35 so no longer a young person but I have been to weddings of younger people recently.

From my experience, digital save the dates and invites are normal and expected.

I have seen honeymoon funds in lieu of a registry but not personal Zelle or Venmo details.

In my opinion, online invites are not tacky but providing your Venmo acct to send money to instead of a registry of some sort is

We’re going to a somewhat formal Wedding in Oct and it’s all online. No Zelle or financial requests though. They are in their 30s and have more money than we do, not sure what we’ll do for a gift yet.

The wedding is formal but it is all online. There is no registry and a link for Zelle and Venmo. The whole thing seems so tacky.

Is this how young people do weddings???
