Feds have announced they’re going to crack down on compounded GLP-1s. https://www.pharmacytimes.com/view/fda-moves-to-permanently-close-the-door-on-compounded-glp-1s

Personally, I’m on Zep and get it through Lilly Direct. My doc prefers the dual agonist, and I’ve been happy.

The compounded medicines are cheaper but not so much cheaper t make it worth it to me. And my doctor begged me not to use a compounded one. I'm on Wegovy because it is cheaper but not sure it will work -- not at highest dose yet -- so if it does not, I will switch to Zepbound.

Yes, that is the least expensive self pay option. I am doing that with LillyDirect through WeightWatchers. It’s still $300/month for the starting dose.

Some GPs work with a compounding pharmacy so you still have their medical guidance and oversight. Find a new GP that does this.

This! Don’t use the cheap compounded drug.

Orderly Meds is the cheapest I've found. I get the compounded version for less than $100/month, given that I have never progressed beyond the starter dose and have lost 40+ pounds.

OP. The last I checked, the first pack is $300 (which my doc gave me for free), the 5mg pack is $399, and doses larger than that are $449. Did the prices change or am I missing something?

No you are correct. I am only on the starter dose 2.5mg which is $300 a month.

I use Noom compounded tirzepatide and have had no issues.

I'm very new to this. I asked my primary care doctor about GLP-1 and she gifted me the first month of Zepbound (2.5 mg) from her sample stock in the office. I easily need to lose 40+ lbs. so there's no doubt I could benefit from it. I have no problem getting a proper prescription from her but my insurance won't cover GLP-1 unless I'm diabetic, and I'm not. What is the easiest and cheapest way to continue with tirzepatide? Is it best to go through the Lilly online program where I pay $449 per month or is it easier/cheaper to sign up with one of the online diet sites that ship out compounded product? Are the compounded products safe and reliable or do people prefer the name-brand product? Which websites do you use and which one is easy and reliable?
