I'm 56 and my husband is 66. We sold our house and rent a luxury apartment. May buy a vacation house, but other than that, I will happily take my 24 hour concierge and no maintenance! I'm ok with being a renter for life.

Almost every house has stairs also.

But if you think stairs might be a problem, I know a retired couple who moved into new elevator townhome community in Strathmore, and they love it.
