This is a very basic program. Not great if you want a strong education. It’s the absolute minimum. MCPS took away the virtual school.


You’re right that it’s the absolute minimum. But the kid is years behind and you have to start somewhere. Please don’t start the “virtual option” debate here.

Hospitalization is not an option because DC is not suicidal. We’ve already been down that road.

Virtual school would be the option for home.

DC is in high school, 3 years below grade level, severe case of school refusal due to anxiety and embarrassment of learning disability. Refuses self contained class which led to school refusal but unable to keep up with regular classes.

ISO a synchronized virtual school/program for a student with learning disabilities and anxiety.
