Maybe say “..for electronic payments, I only take Venmo.”

If someone has offered to organize it and all I have to do is transfer money, it's literally the least I could do requiring almost no effort to thank someone for their time and effort since I didn't even want to do that.

Not thanking a volunteer coach for your kid is appallingly rude.

NP. I do, individually.

That way I am not covering up for the cheapos, those who "forgot" to give $, and those who just don't.

I have always steered clear of that nonsense. My kids are now 21 and 16.

You can thank a volunteer coach by saying thank you, or writing a thank you card. If a volunteer coach is in it for the gift rather than the love of the game, then they shouldn't be volunteering.

Yes, everyone is lining up to volunteer a hundred hours for the pleasure of coaching your little Larlo so they can scam you out of a $15 Dunkin card. Its a long con.

DP but I do individual thank you cards for every teacher, coach, volunteer instructor, etc. at the end of the year.

I do also donate to the group gifts but I actually find them irritating and wish they wouldn't do them.

But how much should I give? (these are the people you went to school with who needed the teacher to give them ideas for their paper or project topics. I hated these people with every breath of my being from 7th grade to grad school (yes they still asked then))

Maybe don’t collect. Most people have multiple ways to collect so perhaps someone else can do it.

I like the people who say "put me in for $20" and then just never pay....
