The High Schooler will want to hang out with her friends.

The Middle Schooler is a rule follower, so he'll go.

They don't have anything better to do at home and they have a full 2 weeks before their camps start, so might as well close out the year.

Had we gone into the following week as they had threatened, we wouldn't have gone. But as it stands, my kid will be there until the last day

Up till the end for hs as we have a few teachers still giving out lots of assignments.

Last year the last two days were the week after the scheduled end of year, so there were tons of kids who were away at prescheduled vacations or camps. That is not an issue this year so I expect attendance for the last few days will be much higher than it was last year.

That said, there's definitely a slowdown in educational content at the very end of the year (although it might be balanced out a little this year by teachers trying to get through the content given the missed snow days and shortened year)-- when/how much depends on the teacher, but I certainly would not expect much education on that last half day anywhere. But at least at the ES level, my kids enjoy whatever fun the teacher has planned for that day and wouldn't want to miss it.

My HS is transferring schools next year. He wants to stay until the very end.

Last day for graded assignments is one week before end of each quarter. So for Q4, it is June 10 or June 11.

Yup. We are taking the last week off for college visits anyway.

In our title I school we are teaching these kids the curriculum until the very last few days when they do fun learning activities and clean out desks etc.

We don't have anything scheduled until the next week, so ours will be there until the end. I do wish they'd actually do some teaching though. There's been no new math instruction for two weeks already, just daily computer game time.

For example, during standardized testing the kids might have three abbreviated classes just in the afternoon. If teachers are saying, “we don’t expect anyone to really be here so we aren’t covering anything new”, that is a sign.

We'll send the whole time. DS enjoyed those last days plus he's in ES and we don't have other childcare those days.

5th grade graduation is on the 17th so going through then.

We leave for our summer vacation on June 14.
