+1 and he's really got a great sense of humor and comedic timing

I wanna like Nate Bargatze, but the whole "dumb dad" trope gets old. Also I'm pretty sure he's MAGA, so I don't like supporting that. His dead pan delivery is so good though.

Same. Jim Gaffigan can be funny but had conversations with our kids before - half his jokes are self deprecating fat jokes. I don't love it for teens, though I relate as a middle aged person.

Leanne is funny but not sure if she is as funny to younger kids? I wish there were more clean female comics. I believe it's the misogynistic nature of stand-up - many people only seem to give women a chance if they're making sex jokes the whole time.

+ Nate Bargatze. Clean like Jim Gaffigan, but funny instead.

I watched his special th greatest average American during the pandemic and it was laugh out loud funny. I watched it again with the kids. I know some people find his aw shucks I’m stupid routine trying, but I find him comedy very relatable.

And, ymmv on this but I find some of the lesbian comedians to be slightly more family friendly as at least they aren’t filling their routine with cheap d&ck jokes like so many of the female comedians (I find it such lazy writing when half your routine is about blow jobs…). Wanda Sykes and Fortune Feimster. Wanda dos sweat like a sailor though. Wanda’s special Not Normal is really funny — a lot of her jokes have to do with raising white kids with a French wife. But maybe that kind of humor would go over their heads anyway.

If you can do some editing there are parts of John mulaney kid gorgeous that would be appropriate for kids and pretty funny. He’s hilarious when he talks about his dad. But again they might not get all the Bill Clinton jokes!

+2, he's very funny.

He also has a movie coming out this summer though it's gotten awful reviews. But it's a family comedy and if they wind up enjoying his comedy it might be an option for a family movie night down the road.

We have a long road trip coming up, and the kids have requested to listen to comedy. They are 13, 12, and 8. Any recs for something we can listen to while in the car?
