I came here to complain that I couldn’t remove myself but am staying to complain about the amount of teachers and admin here. I assume every post where you see posts like “who cares about math?” And “ed tech is everywhere whatevs” is another teacher pretending everything is fine.

Mine's working now too and it wasn't a couple days ago. Seems like it's all systems go at this point!

I’ve been able to remove myself from waitlists for weeks now.

I was able to remove my one school from both my kids lists, but tried to remove one more and it didn’t work. Thought maybe it was a limit of one per kid per day or something? I’m sure they get a LOT of people who remove themselves by accident and call in a panic. I assume there’s a day or two delay in anyone’s number actually changing to account for that.

I dunno? Just guessing here.

I think last year it was the 5th or the 6th? So I'd assume by Monday.

Oh man, don't get my hopes up. I've seen no movement at all in my numbers. Not forward, not backward. Nada.

Attention folks: The "Remove Myself from Waitlist" button is LIVE on the myschooldc.org website. If your kid is sitting on a waitlist and you've decided you're no longer interested in the school, and know that you wouldn't take a seat if offered, do everyone a favor and remove yourself!

Waitlists will move faster, especially as we get closer to the start of the new school year, if schools don't have to reach out to as many people and wait for the "no" before they can move on to the next person. Save them the headache, and help out those of us still desperately watching the waitlist.

I just removed myself from two we've changed our minds on. Good karma!
