Get a second opinion on the issue. Maybe something as simple as vacuuming the coils.

I mean this kindly, but if you're broke you don't have too many options (we are the same way). Compressor isn't that easy of a fix. Even still, go get a cheap one on marketplace.

Being handy just requires watching youtube.

The rent to own type places are often quite scammy so I'd be careful. I'd check places like goodwill or buy nothing groups.

Agree with a buy nothing group or similar.

Also I know Lowes has a financing option that is not tied to a credit card. I don't typically recommend them if your credit isn't great, but it's an option. Also, a lot of places online now also use after pay and Klarna.

I don’t think anyone would finance without a credit check. Have you looked on local listservs for someone selling an old one for cheap?

If you aren’t picky about color/features/size you might be able to get one from a buy nothing group. You can post explaining what you need and sometimes people renovating kitchens are getting rid of perfectly good refrigerators.

Seeing if anyone can help me find a fridge with some caveats...

Looking for a store that does 'Rent to own' or something simliar where I can pay in payments. I went to home depot and best buy but they want me to apply for their credit card for financing. I don't want to do that. I'm just looking for credit for a fridge. Long story short,

I bought my current fridge a few years ago and unfortnately I'm out of the warranty window and the cost to repair is about 1k. Any advice on what store does fianancing without applying for a credit card would be awesome. I'm in the springfield/lorton area.
