He will be spending most of his time with his fellow analysts and also working.

Tell him to attend every single dinner/drinks (formal or informal) event at the bank. He should try to develop a relationship with a couple of people who will go to bat for him when it comes time for a job.

What is he doing? I know at least some big banks and I'm sure plenty of other companies have free access to museums (I am using mine this weekend!). There are various lotteries for theater tickets - I don't think as cheap as you recall but much better than face value. Free events in Bryant Park, Governor's Island, etc. I think there's a lot going on around 4th of July. I'm old and boring so don't know a lot of details but I hope that helps!

DS has an NYC internship this summer and I'm trying to encourage him to seek out all the free (or cheap) entertainment. When I lived there 20+ years ago it was possible to get Shakespeare in the Park tickets without standing in line for hours, $10 rush tickets to musicals, lots of free entries to museums with corporate IDs - not sure if any of this is still true but I'd appreciate any tips. Thanks!
