Is it bad that I am curious why you’ve been excluded by not one but three people and not defended by your brother?

It’s been years of asking myself why were they escalating the behavior. The level of secrecy and exclusion in a family got to the point of cruelty.

Sorry for your loss. In situations like yours, everyone loses. Move on and count your blessings. God sorts us all out in the end.

Nephew told me they still had hopes. Brother was athletic and in better shape than men at 60. My head hurts and my heart is pumping fast.

I strongly urge you to get into therapy. It sounds like you have a lot to unpack and having a third party help you navigate that is so, so helpful.

This is a rough time for you and you are going through a lot. Please look up someone in your area and make some calls.

Palliative care isn't hospice. Please google the difference. I know it can be a hard thing to hear (because it was for me when my dad went on palliative care over 10 years ago) but it does not mean death is imminent. My dad is still here today, still on palliative care.

I am sorry your family is such a source of pain. Try to find some solace for yourself, perhaps in nature, in reading, in good food, movies, a friend if possible.

I ask you to be gentle on me because I just received difficult to swallow news.
My brother is receiving palliative care. His wife and my sister have been excluding me for years to the point of not informing me when my mother passed. My brother’s daughter excluded me from her wedding. My nephew is kind of the liaison, but vaguely updating.
Memories of our childhood together, with my mother playing with us and celebrating every birthday at home come back.
