I think this thread being 14 comments is telling. People have good things to say or nothing at all.

I have one swimmer who went through ASA and another still there. You get a lot more attention than at RMSC (we were there for years and it’s also great but different).

Chris is really one of the best out there. The senior coaches were great in my opinion. I have no regrets. I don’t hear a lot of complaints.

We moved to ASA about three years ago and love our decision. My DC and we as parents have been welcomed immediately by the community. I like the fact that there is no double training sessions even for the top group here. I can't even count how many AU swimmers moved to ASA in last 18 months, (and some GP swimmers too), but they all seem satisfied with the change. I know the swimmer and the family of the most recent imports from GP are very happy about the move, and she's been actually swimming faster with less training. Overall, it's a great club filled with nice kids, good parents and awesome coaches.

Long standing NoVa swim parent. If I lived anywhere in close proximity to Bethesda, I would without hesitation move my kids to All Star. I have worked the deck for many years and can honestly say their coaches have some of the best demeanor, engagement with their swimmers and interaction with their coaching peers across many PVS clubs. Look at their top performing swimmers' achievements and there's really nothing more to say.

NCAP-West (all three sites), Burke, Alexandria, and Loudoun (all three sites) are excellent. I can’t speak to the others, although NCAP-MM and Tyson’s have some of the same families who swim in Division 1 of NVSL.

Honestly, don’t even hesitate. It’s a great club with great coaches pretty much top to bottom. I also think because it’s a club where all swimmers are expected to train all four strokes, there are/is (relatively speaking) fewer injuries and less burnout. - Parent of a swimmer in one of the HS groups

Please do not pick a club based on anonymous feedback on a toxic message board. Go talk to other families, I'm sure there is an ASA family at your school or summer pool or friends of a friend.

What is wrong with the top group?

My child is in the top group- nothing is wrong with it, its just that parents have a hard time going from lots of hand-holding to none, which is appropriate in an older group, both for parents and the swimmers. The parents who complain probably have a kid not dropping time at the rate they’d like to see, but frankly that has to do with a lot of factors including the swimmer’s motivation.

The proof is in the pudding- I can’t remember the last time a swimmer left my child’s group for another club.

Chris is one of the best age group coaches out there- I wish we had moved to ASA earlier and I tell everyone on our summer team to try out

PP here. Given the news from Prep, we are in the market. Any constructive feedback on ASA? Have an age group swimmer.
