I was talking to the intern at work today because a Beyonce song was playing, and I told her I really only like the song that was in the Charlie's Angels movie that came out a few years ago. She didn't know the song or movie. I just looked it up and it came out in 2000, two years before she was born.

Yes. When my nieces and nephews started going to college, or when grad school friends who didn't even have kids when I met them now have kids in their 20s.

Hearing that Lenny Kravitz is 62 today. He has always been older than me but when I was young he was also pretty young, so now that he's old, well.

Having a urologist.

Walking through the neighborhood I lived in during my 20s and realizing suddenly that the building I lived in, which was pretty new when I lived there, is being gutted and replace.

The Oldies stations from when I was a kid (in the 80s and 90s) are all gone now...because all the people who listened to that music are dead or almost dead.

I sent a list of attendees and what each planned to bring for a gathering to the person physically hosting the event. That person couldn’t read it because it was in cursive. They are 40.

I live in my home town, DC. my parents moved away about 30 years ago and moved back in April. Yesterday in my car my mom asked about a radio station we used to listen to and said she couldn’t find it on the radio (my mom is 80) I asked her what it was and she sang the jingle that included the phrase, “music from the 70’s 80’s and today” It was at this moment I realized that what she was looking for would, today, be an “oldies” station. It would have been akin to music played from the 50’s 60’s and Motown (Big100 for those in the know) This one hurts. What surprise things make you realize you’ve aged (not that it’s necessarily a bad thing)?
